You will have tribulation…

Jesus said in John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” It is not that Jesus came to save you from your meaninglessness, from your anxiety, from your poverty, from your lack of fulfillment; it is not that Jesus saves you from your trouble. Jesus came to save people from their sin, from the penalty of their sin, from the presence of sin, and from the wrath of God to come. The Bible says in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…”, and that death is not just spiritual death but eternal death, separation from God forever in a place of torment and punishment.
